Provider-independent means that a durable business fact does not depend on which interchangeable application first supplied or displayed it. Its provenance stays visible, but its meaning uses stable Agency OS identities and contracts.
Origin still matters
Provider independence does not erase the source. Kernel can retain where a fact came from, when it was observed, which mapping connected it to canonical work, and who or what authorized acceptance.
For example, Chronos and Clockify may both originate time observations. Once an observation is accepted under the applicable policy, its canonical relationships should not require every consumer to understand the provider’s private customer, project, or task identifiers.
First-party does not automatically mean authoritative. A homegrown application can still be an observation or execution provider for a particular dataset.
